The daffodils and crocuses on the banks of the Rawthey, especially at Millthrop Bridge, bring a touch of colour from February onwards. In summer, residents and businesses alike decorate their premises with hanging baskets and planters, and cricket is played on the Sedbergh School pitch behind St Andrew's Church. As green turns to yellow, gold and brown, Sedbergh's surroundings take on a whole new look in the October/November sunshine. Winter is often cold and wet, but the Christmas lights and window displays give Main Street a welcoming look.
