Sedbergh is situated within the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and the town is dominated by the nearby Fells. The views from and towards Winder and the Howgills, to the north of the town, are particularly spectacular. The immediate surroundings of the town include the valleys of four rivers, and a network of public rights of way offers the walker easy access to a variety of both pastoral and upland scenery.
